aerial photograph of Halton-on-Lune Lancashire England UK. On the left is Grade II listed St Wilfrid's Church was built 1876-7 with a 16th century tower. To the right of the tower in the churchyard is a tall cross. This is a Scheduled Monument which dates from Saxon times. Decoration on the cross was added in the 11th century date and depicts the Sigurd legend , ie St George slying the Dragon. In the centre of the image is the Grade II listed 18th Century Tower House and former stables which were once part of Halton Hall. Below the Tower House is the 18th Century Clock House with Flanking walls which are also Grade II listed.
