aerial photographs of Alberbury Castle Shropshire England UK. The castle has been little researched but was probably built in the 13th Century by Fulk Fitz Warin III on the strategically important border between England and Wales which had been the scene of much fighting in the wars between King John and Llewelyn Fawr which cumulated in the fall of Shrewsbury to Llewelyn in 1215. Its likley the castle was constructed shortly after the peace agreement at the treaty of Worcester in 1218 between Llewelyn Fawr and Henry III ( king John having died in 1216 ).
