The 200m long, 27m high Treffry Viaduct was built was built in 1844 to carry a tramway taking minerals from mining activities to the port of Par.The viaduct carried both the tramway and a water supply. The water powered a water wheel which brought trams up the incline. The structure is listed as a Scheduled Monument but is in poor condition and is on Historic England's, Heritage at Risk register.
